Penventon Park HotelThe conference is being held at Penventon Park Hotel and Redruth School, Redruth, Cornwall. The hotel is the venue for reception (Friday and Monday), meals and the bar while the school is providing the lecture hall and camping space and will hold the reception on Saturday and Sunday.

Set in a Georgian mansion surrounded by gardens and woodland, Penventon Park Hotel is a 4-star hotel and a 9-minute walk from Redruth.  The hotel has a ballroom to seat 160 for dinner and other function rooms that will be used for the Friday and Sunday evening buffets.  The hotel will also provide buffet breakfasts at a discounted rate to delegates.  Partners can also benefit from the spa facilities!

Redruth School is allowing us the use of the playing fields and hard-surfaced area for camping.  They are also providing the use of their sports hall and adjacent drama studio for lectures and displays.  Teas, coffees and buffet lunches will also be served in the sports hall on Saturday and Sunday.

Apart from the events in the school and hotel, it is planned that the Monday evening buffet meal will be served underground at Carnglaze Caverns.  Trips will be arranged from Redruth to a number of local sites of mining and historic industrial interest.

The address of the hotel is West End, Redruth, Cornwall, TR15 1TE (for SatNav use postcode: TR15 3AD, British grid reference: SW 69389 41868 or LatLong: 50.23192 deg (N) -5.234057 deg (W)  (Tel: 01209 203 000).

Travel to the venue

RoadBy road: From Exeter direction, follow the A30 until reaching the outskirts of Redruth.  Follow the Camborne-Pool-Redruth Bypass, take the turn-off signposted "Cornwall Gold" at "The Avers" roundabout.  Take the slip road to the left and at the next roundabout within just a few metres of the junction, take the third exit and follow the A3047 towards Redruth.  Stay on the dual carriageway A3047 past Tescos supermarket and petrol station on the left and Redruth School [turn in here if you are going direct to the lectures and campsite] until the next roundabout and then take a sharp left into Blowinghouse Hill, signposted "Penventon Park Hotel" and Redruth (west).  Follow this road for about 500m and the hotel will be found on the left opposite a municipal car park.  (The road name changes to West End.)  The A3047 follows the A30 route so try not to turn off too early but if you do, keep following the A3047 until you have past the large Tescos on your left.

CycleBy cycle:  Follow the directions as for road travel but you can also turn on to the A3047 north-east of Redruth and then follow the A393 East End to the centre of Redruth. After the railway station on Station Road (then Station Hill), go right and left to join West End (opposite Fore Street).  The hotel will then be on your right after 1/2 mile.

BusBy bus: Bus routes in Cornwall can be downloaded HERE.  Always check that the buses are still running close to the time of the conference.

RailBy rail: Train services run to Redruth station which is about 3/4 miles (1.2km) from the venue.  Taxis can be picked up outside the station.

FlyingBy air: There are flights from various UK airports to Newquay.  These range from Gatwick and Heathrow to Glasgow and Aberdeen.  Most flights are operated by Flybe.  Refer to their website (https://www.flybe.com/) for details.  The journey from Newquay to Redruth takes about half an hour by car, taxi or fast bus or more like two hours by train or slow bus (data from https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Newquay/Redruth).
